Activities undertaken by Czepczynski Family Foundation during Global Money Week 2022

Tuesday, 22.03.2022

Launch of a competition for kids aged 5-10 to make a board game on financial knowledge. 

The competition is addressed at children, teachers and guardians of groups of up to 30 students. Works may be submitted until 31 May 2022. The results will be announced on June 10, 2022.The organizer has foreseen individual prizes for children for I, II, III place. The winning group also wins the “ABC of Economics” education package for kindergarten/school.Prizes for teachers/group tutors are the following: I place laptop, II place – voucher (500 PLN), III place – voucher (300 PLN). The rules of the competition will be available on the www.cff.edu.pl website from 22.03.2022.

European Bank Federation debate (3:35 – 4:10 pm)

Czepczyński Family Foundation was invited to participate in a debate organized by the European Bank Federation (EBF). During the meeting, we will be represented by Paweł Kaczmarczyk PhD, who will talk about CFF’s experience in developing financial education in Poland, especially in the context of education in times of crisis.

Debate will be moderated by Wim Mijs, CEO EBF. Among the speakers appear Diana Filip (JA Europe), Despina Spanou (European Commision – tbc).

Debate will be transmited live on LinkedIn EBF.

Online training for teachers in financial education (8:00-9:30 pm)

The meeting is addressed at teachers, educators, guardians / parents who want to learn how to talk to children about economics and finances. During the meeting, held by the development therapist and financial educator, participants will learn about the cognitive abilities of children from birth to adolescence, when it is best to talk to them about economics and finance, and what language and tools to use to make such a conversation effective and lead to the consolidation of knowledge and proper attitudes regarding finance and economics in adult life. During the meeting a financial education program for children aged 5-10 “ABC of Economics” will be presented. The broadcast will take place on the CFF Facebook page and on the YouTube channel, and the recording will be made available for later playback.

Home budget – what is this? Online financial education lesson (11:00-11:45 am)

The lesson is addressed at teachers and students of grades 1-3 of primary school. The topic of the meeting will be: Home budget – what is this? Children will find out what constitutes income and expenses in the household budget, what are the needs and wants. The lesson will be conducted by an early childhood education teacher, education specialist at the Czepczynski Family Foundation. The lesson is part of the “ABC of Economics” project aimed at students aged 5-10 and was developed on the basis of the book entitled “The ABC of Economics. First steps in the world of finance” written by Żaneta Kupczyk and Wiktor Czepczyński. The lesson will be broadcasted via the CFF profile on Facebook and YouTube. You will be able to participate in the lesson during its broadcast and the recording will be made available for later playback.

Highschool students as entrepreneurs? Why not? A discussion about the sock business with Barbara Chrześcijańska – President of Young Blood Group Sp. z o.o. and So! Socks! (8:00-9:00 pm)

A meeting with former students who took their first entrepreneurial steps while being students of Secondary School No. 1 in Zielona Góra. How did they manage to start the company producing socks? Where did they get the idea and how did they deal with the formalities? Can a minor be a business owner? Where do young people get courage and motivation, and above all, economic maturity to start a business? The meeting will be broadcasted via the CFF profile on Facebook and YouTube and the recording will be made available for later playback.

The meeting is aimed at young people and teachers. It is an excellent material to use during entrepreneurship classes.

„What is a price?” Online financial education lesson in English (11:00-11:45 am)

This online lesson is addressed at students aged 6-10 and their teachers. The topic of the meeting will be the price and how to understand it. The lesson will be conducted by two experts and educators from the Czepczynski Family Foundation. It will be based on the book “ABC of Economics. First steps in the world of finance” as well as worksheets and infographics in English. This lesson is part of the financial and economic education programme “ABC of Economics” present already in 6 countries in Europe. The programme is available in 5 languages (PL, EN, DE, IT, ES). The lesson will be broadcasted in English, via the CFF profile on Facebook and YouTube. Participants will be able to download worksheets and infographics for their classes free of charge. You will be able to participate in the lesson during its broadcast and recording will be made available for later playback.
